Listen Together: read or listen with friends

Start a room around a book or show. Everyone uses their own app and keeps pace on one track, without spoilers.

2 min5 steps Open Listen Together
  1. Start a room

Tap Together on any title, or the people icon at the top (on a phone, tap your initials, then Listen Together). Choose Buddy listen for a few friends or Book club for a group.

  2. Set the pace

Pick a finish date and how many check-ins. Audiostacks shows how much a day that is, and everyone sees whether they’re on pace. Or choose no deadline.

  3. Invite people

Copy the link, text it, or show the QR code. Anyone with the link can join with a free account. Friends on Audiostacks can be invited with one tap.

  4. Update where you are

Use whatever your app shows: the time in or left on an audiobook, a percent on an ebook, a page in print, or the episode of a show. Everyone lands on one shared track, with the check-ins and today’s target marked.

  5. Talk without spoilers

Every note, reaction, poll and reply is pinned to the spot in the book where it was written. You only see what’s at or behind you; anything ahead shows as a lock until you get there. Choose Spoiler-free to post something everyone can read.

Good to know

Can someone peek at what’s ahead?
No. Hidden notes never leave our servers until you reach them, so there’s nothing to peek at.
What are the reactions on the track?
Tap an emoji to react at your spot. The colored bars above the track show where the group reacted most, but only up to where you are.
We’re in different formats
That’s the point. One of you can listen on Audible, another read on Kindle, another in print. Progress is shared as a percentage of the book.
How many people?
Up to 8 in a buddy listen and 150 in a book club.
Can I be in more than one room?
Yes, as many as you like. Each shows on For you, Up next and In progress, with how many new notes are waiting.
