Find your way around

The five shelves, search, Add, Import, alerts, Listen Together and your menu, at a glance.

1. 1

   Shelves

   For you opens first, with picks matched to what you’ve finished. Up next is your queue, in order. In progress is what you’re on now. Finished is everything you’ve completed, and Library is everything you have: bought, borrowed, followed or finished (an Up next pick joins it once you have it; tap I have it on the title). Finished and Library each have Books and Podcasts tabs, starting on Books.

   

2. 2

   Search

   Type a title, author, narrator or podcast. Your stack comes first, then books, audiobooks and podcasts you don’t have yet, including books that are coming soon. Press / to jump there.

   

3. 3

   Add and Import

   Add (the + button) finds any book or podcast. Import brings in your library from other apps. On a phone, Import is the icon next to +; on a computer it says Import library.

   

4. 4

   Alerts

   The bell shows what’s new: a book available at your library, a new book in a series, a new episode. On a phone, the count shows on your initials.

   

5. 5

   Listen Together

   The people icon opens your rooms: read or listen to the same book with friends, keep pace, and talk without spoilers. On a phone, tap your initials, then Listen Together.

   Your menu

   Tap your initials for Alerts, Listen Together, Friends, Invite friends, Your series, Highlights, Your stats, Settings (passkeys, your library card, listening speed, your data), Get the app and the Help center.
